Diego Garrido

Psychologist & Humanistic Existential Therapist

I am a Chilean psychologist with more than eight years of clinical experience, offering counseling to adults in Berlin. My practice is based in ahumanistic–existential orientation, where therapy is understood as a collaborative, respectful, and devoid of judgment encounter. I believe meaningful change emerges through a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and openness.

I completed my psychology degree at Universidad Diego Portales in Chile and began my professional career as a clinical psychologist working with individuals, couples, and families at the University of Chile. I later obtained a Master’s degree in Drug Dependencies from the University of Barcelona. Continuous professional development is a central part of my work, allowing me to integrate new perspectives and offer thoughtful, individualized interventions.

My clinical work integrates a range of approaches and techniques, including experiential and imagery-based work, Gestalt interventions, motivational interviewing, Jungian-oriented perspectives, post-rationalist therapy, and existential analysis. Rather than applying a single model, I adapt my methods to the unique story, needs, rhythm, and expected goals of each client.

I have extensive experience supporting people with addiction and substance use, as well as working with themes related to gender, identity, stigma, and marginalization. My practice is explicitly LGBTQIA+ affirmative, and I have a particular interest in working with sexualized substance use, gender-based violence, and minority stress.

Having lived in Denmark, Sweden, Spain, and now Germany, I bring a strong intercultural and migration-sensitive perspective to my practice. These experiences allow me to work comfortably with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and with those navigating questions of identity, belonging, and life transitions in an international context.

I welcome you as you are. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult period, exploring patterns in relationships, or wanting to deepen self-understanding, I aim to provide a safe, supportive, and reflective space. My commitment is to accompany you with professionalism and care as you move towards greater well-being, understanding, and a more fulfilling life aligned with your values and potentiality.
